Mr David Woodnutt
An experienced lower limb (Hip and Knee) arthroplasty surgeon and has performed just shy of 9,000 procedures since starting in 1993.
Sub-specialties include Hip Replacements in the Young Person, Knee Replacements in the Very Active, Revision Surgery, Research and Lecturing both Internationally and for Surgeon-to Surgeon training. He also travels to remote countries to perform surgery on an occasional basis where there is no embedded orthopaedic surgeon: namely, St Helena, Tristan da Cunha and most recently in the Falkland Islands. Charity work is also undertaken in such places as Bangladesh, South Africa and a trip to Kenya is planned in the not too distant future.
An extensive database of all cases undertaken has allowed him to build on the vital knowledge of the long-term results of these types of surgery and in conjunction with the various National Joint Registries, allows the most up-to-date, bespoke surgery for each individual case.
Additionally, he is firmly of the belief that a joint replacement starts a “Contract for Life” allowing queries about progress and concerns to be raised directly by the patient about their particular procedure, sometimes many years after the original surgery.
His office includes a full-time Personal Assistant on hand to provide you with an individual and tailored service; and a part-time secretary who is also available for patient queries.
